By joining this program, OB Alliance will develop AI models that address critical challenges in clean energy, enabling solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and context-aware intelligence across energy systems.

Our Vision: Enabling Context-Aware AI for Clean Energy Systems
The clean energy transition requires smarter integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) like solar panels, energy storage, and EV chargers. These systems generate vast amounts of data that are often fragmented and inconsistent, creating barriers for AI models to provide reliable insights.
Core Use Cases Enabled by NVIDIA AI Resources
With NVIDIA’s GPU technology, OB Alliance will enable AI models that are context-aware, efficient, and scalable, solving key challenges such as:
1. Large Language Models (LLMs) for DER Nameplate Mapping
DER devices—like solar inverters and storage systems—come with diverse nameplate information (e.g., specifications, capabilities, operational limits) that often lack standardized representation.
2. Optimizing Interconnection Using Hosting Capacity and AHJ Data
Interconnection backlogs are a major bottleneck in renewable energy deployment. Identifying suitable locations for DERs often requires analyzing fragmented Hosting Capacity Maps and AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) information.
3. Generating Synthetic Data Sets for AI Simulations
AI models require vast amounts of high-quality data to simulate and predict how DERs (e.g., solar inverters, batteries) behave under varying grid conditions, external influences, and operational constraints. However, real-world data is often limited, incomplete, or expensive to collect.
